Flowers with Style

This class explores a variety of art styles (Impressionism, pointillism, pop art, monochrome modernism) and applies them to creating flower works. Mixed media or single mediums will be up to each student as they create a new work in each session.

Each session will begin with study of the day’s art style, with tips and practice of key elements for creating in this style.

Students are invited to create in a single medium, mixed media, layered techniques, or collage.

Student supplies: F or HB pencil, pink pearl eraser, kneaded eraser, soft core colored pencils such as Prismacolor premier, Polychromos, Derwent, etc., recommended set of 48 or more, Flat drawing surface (tables are slightly textured)

Instructor provided supplies: all substrates (including canvas board, stretched canvas, masonite board, variety of papers), acrylic paints and brushes, inks, charcoal, variety of gel and textural mediums for experimentation
