Mayor Mike Horn grew up in the Florida Keys. After receiving his degree in Journalism from the University of Florida his career took him to Washington, D.C., Los Angeles, and Dallas before moving to Winston-Salem in 1983 where he and his soon-to-be wife started their advertising agency growing it to become one of the 10 largest in the Triad.
Mayor Horn moved to Lewisville in 1991 and was elected to his first term on the Lewisville Town Council in 1993. He has served on the council for more than 26 years, including six terms as mayor.
In addition to being Lewisville's Mayor, he currently serves as chairman of the region's Transporation Advisory Committee, a trustee on the Novant Health Board of Directors, a board member on the Piedmont Authority for Rapid Transportation, and a board member of the New River Conservancy. He is also a member of the Lewisville Civic Club, the Lewisville Historical Society, and the Vienna Civic Club.
