Welcome New Residents

Town seal of Lewisville, North Carolina

Welcome to Lewisville, North Carolina!

Lewisville is a residential community of more than 13,000 in western Forsyth County, North Carolina. While the town was incorporated in 1991, we have a long history as a township dating back to the 1700s. One of the reasons the residents decided to incorporate was to retain our small-town feel, and a great deal of time and effort has gone into planning for future growth.

The Town provides for the weekly curbside collection of garbage for town residents. There is no charge for this service.

Please have the 95-gallon garbage container at the curb in front of your home by 6 a.m. on the morning of your collection. Trash needs to be bagged before it is put into the trash cart.

For a trash or recycling pickup concern, please contact Waste Management at 336-723-2784.

The Town offers curbside recycling to its residents. Recycling is picked up every other week along with your garbage on your regular garbage collection day. Please have both containers at the curb in front of your home by 6 a.m. on your collection day. Containers must be at least five feet apart from one another to allow ample space for pickup.

For more information on what can and cannot be recycled, please see the  "Recycling Guidelines."

Stormwater management is a federally mandated program intended to improve the quality of our waters.

What is stormwater? Stormwater is water that runs off the ground after rain rather than being absorbed into the ground. This runoff gets into the storm drains and from there gets into our creeks, streams, and lakes. This is what causes sediment buildup in lakes and rivers. This runoff often carries harmful chemicals that also pollute the water.

Stormwater Tips
  • Don't over-fertilize your lawn.
  • Only allow rainwater down the stormwater drain.
  • Wash your vehicle at a commercial car wash,
  • Pick up pet waste.
  • Don't litter!
