The "Shallow Ford" Sculpture Unveiling Reception
To celebrate the addition of this artwork, the Town of Lewisville is hosting a public unveiling reception on October 6 at 5:30 p.m. at the Square, near the intersection of David McKee Street and the Great Wagon Road.
About the Sculpture & Artists
Lewisville's Public Art Advisory Committee has awarded local artist Paul Spainhour the grant to create a carbon steel piece of art to place in Shallowford Square. It depicts the Yadkin River where the Shallow Ford crosses between the Yadkin Valley and Forsyth County sides.
Spainhour's 44 years of experience in design, fabrication, and installation have earned him his current status as a master blacksmith. His wife, artist and art educator Pat Spainhour, has also played a crucial role in helping to design and prepare the piece.
The piece is funded by the Shallow Ford Foundation and the Town of Lewisville.
