Unified Development Ordinance [2025 Draft]

The Town of Lewisville is conducting a significant rewrite of its Unified Development Ordinance (UDO), in partnership with the Kimley-Horn consulting firm. The UDO contains all the regulations pertaining to growth & development, zoning administration, environmental management and other aspects of land use within Lewisville. The Lewisville UDO has never undergone a complete reevaluation since it was first adopted by the Town Council in the early 1990s. The principal goals of this rewrite are to thoroughly update land use regulations to better fit modern day Lewisville and fulfill the intents and descriptions of the Lewisville Tomorrow Comprehensive Plan.

This is a DRAFT only. The Town Council will consider adoption of the final version of the revised UDO later in 2025.

Lewisville Plans

The Lewisville Comprehensive Plan is the town's "vision" for future growth and development. The plan provides the policy directions for framing land use decisions and growth management initiatives. The Comprehensive Plan is updated every five years, and the process involves local residents serving on committees to review the various chapters for needed updates and new ideas.
