Weather forecasters are predicting the possibility of snow over the next 12 hours with accumulations of 1 to 2 inches in our area. Our snow removal contractor has not been successful in obtaining additional salt to spread on our neighborhood streets because of the severe shortage of salt supplies across the region.
The North Carolina Department of Transportation is also facing salt shortages.
We are asking you to please limit travel on our roads to those trips that are absolutely necessary in order not to pack the snow down. This will speed its melting during the day on Saturday.
Please be safe and if possible stay off the roads if you can.
