Violin Virtuoso Concert Set for Sunday, February 27

Join us for an afternoon of superb music featuring three spectacular violinists featuring Raphael Papo, Roni Shitrit and Austin Zhong. This solo violin virtuosity from Bach to the Present will take place from 3 until 4 p.m. on Sunday, February 27 at the new Mary Alice Warren Community Center in Lewisville. Admission is free; however, seating is LIMITED. The sponsorship for the concert was made possible by the Shallowford Foundation.

Violinists include Raphael Papo, Roni Shitrit, and Austin Zhong.

Raphael Papo is a British/Israeli violinist currently completing his undergraduate studies at UNCSA. A graduate of Wells Cathedral School in England, Raphael was concertmaster of the orchestras. He is also a member of the Chamber Orchestra of the Triangle in Durham, NC under the directorship of Lorenzo Mutti.

Roni Shitrit was born in Israel. She began her violin studies at the Ramla Conservatory when she was 5 years old. Roni is the first prize winner in the 2021 MTNA Young Artisit National Competition, first prize and special prize winner in the Moscow competition and on eof the prize winners of a national competition in Israel (2017) just to name a few. Roni has participated in masterclasses with many world renowned violinists, including Benjamin Schmidt, Miriam Fried, Grigory Kalinovsky and many more.

Colorado born American violinist, Austin Zhong, has performed across the world at some of the most prestigious international venues. As a former member of the New York based Shen Yun Performing Arts and Shen Yun Symphony Orchestra, has performed at Carnegie Hall, Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Lincoln Center, London Coliseum, Tokyo Opera City and many more. Austin began his violin studies at the age of three. Austin is currently a first year graduate student at UNCSA under the tutelage of Ida Bieler.
