Gelly Plate Printing Workshop

When
-

Have you ever found a leaf, looked at the veins, and thought; "I would love to document this?" If you have, you're in luck! In this three-hour hands-on workshop, master printmaking instructor at Sawtooth and Artworks Gallery Exhibitor Mona Wu will introduce AAWS Members and Friends to the beauty of Gelli Printing!

Always one of a kind, Gelli Printing is exciting because it's easy, versatile, textural, and you can use every day objects. Importantly, it's also a printmaking technique that doesn't require a press, so you can do it from the comfort of your home.

In this class students will learn how to make gelli prints using two different sizes of commercial gel plates: 5x5 & 5x7. These plates will be provided at the class, along with Akua inks, tools, and papers. We will use fresh leaves, acetate cutouts, and found objects to make unique prints. It will be a fun-filled and productive afternoon!

Participants can bring their own papers, stencils, and fresh leaves if they prefer. There is an additional $5 materials fee payable directly to the instructor on the day of the workshop.

*This class will only hold 8 people, so register quickly!

Cost for the class is $15 non-members and $10 for members.
